The Vaults opened on 19th December 2019 in the old Yorkshire Bank building on Market Street, which over the preceding months had undergone a complete overhaul and conversion to a stylish new town centre venue.

The building itself dates back to the mid-1900s but the original building can be seen in the photo below when there were two businesses, Johnson Brothers cleaners and J W White's occupying the plot.
