The former TV shop is going to have a new use. A new micropub is being launched in Bamber Bridge to cater for Preston’s growing real ale scene. The former BBTV shop in Station Road is being refitted by Graham Roberts. Named Brig N Barrel it’s going to be run by Graham, one of his friends and both of their partners.
The 37-year-old said: “We will be free from any ties and will look to provide our customers with quality beers from the local area, and sourcing some from further afield, and we will always be open to recommendations from our customers and aim to provide them with any quality ales they would like to see in our micro.
It was a former TV Shop before we took it on, and we are renovating it from top to bottom – we stripped it right down to a shell which we did ourselves, and now the tradesman are in and building it back up ready for the opening.
It is our first business venture, and our first time into the hospitality sector too but ready for the challenge and learning along the way.
Inside what will be Brig N Barrel following the refit. Brig N Barrel is due to open in early June and is opposite the former Scartop building. The intended opening times are 2pm to 9.30pm Monday to Thursday, 12 noon to 11pm on Friday and Saturday and 12 noon to 9pm on Sunday.

The building itself dates back to the mid-1800s when it was originally the home of Adam Dickinson and his family, who worked as a Draper's Assistant.
