Lostock Hall - Tardy Gate Inn

 Name: The Tardy Gate Inn

Address: 1 Brownedge Rd, Lostock Hall

Postcard of the Inn c.1910

Now known as the Wishing Well at Tardy Gate, the Tardy Gate Inn dates back to the early 1800s. The 1844 map below clearly shows the existence of a public house at Tardy Gate and the basic building shape remains the same to this day so I can only assume this was the original location of the Inn. In the latter half of the 1800s and into the 1900s the Tardy Gate was a Whittle Springs Brewery public house.
