Parbold - Windmill Inn

Name: Windmill Inn

Address: Mill Lane, Parbold

The Windmill Inn is said to date back to 1794 and coincided with the opening of the Leeds to Liverpool canal, benefiting from the trade that provided along with business from the neighbouring Newburgh Corn Mills and the Windmill whose name it took. The map from 1845 clearly shows the Inn on Mill Lane (then known as Mill House Lane).

1845

Listed landlords at the Inn were Robert Blackburn (1849-71), Elizabeth Blackburn (1871), John Blackburn (1881-91), Robert W Blizard (1901), Hugh Cornwell (1911-23), Mary Ellen Cornwell (1923-) and Paul & Laura Bolton (2011-)
