Standish - White Duck Inn

Name: The White Duck Inn

Address: 73, High Street, Standish

Listed landlords at the White Duck were William Chamberlain (1841-61), James Chamberlain (1861-76), Richard Dawber (1881), James Chamberlain (1891), James Henry Chamberlain (1901), Elizabeth Moss (1911), David Rothwell (1924) and Janine Susan Jones (2023).

This was the home of the Chamberlain family for several generations during the 19th century and surprisingly their main occupations were not innkeepers but painters as the records confirm.

More recently the White Duck has undergone several name changes, being run as the Bear's Paw (1980's), Standish Arms (1990's) and more recently, Last Orders pub. It is currently being refurbished and extended and is due to open later in 2017 as Fifteen's of Standish.
